I know in France we don't really care about environment (even if it's changing), but here it's terrible. They really don't care about saving energy or water. Cars are big and need a lot of gas ( perhaps 16L/100km ), and as everything is wide, americans always use their car for everything. Mass transportation system is unefficient ( bus lanes cover perhaps only 1/3 of the city, and you have to wait 20 or 30 min between 2 buses ). It's the same for electricity : lights on all night long in the houses, temperature of the ambient air in the houses : 17 deg C. I do not know if it is the same everywhere in america, but this city is a very big waste of energy.
